INSTITUTIONAL COMPLIANCE PROGRAM
The UTSA Compliance Program reflects the commitment of UTSA to maintain the
highest ethical standards and to comply with all applicable laws, policies, rules and regulations.
The Director of Institutional Compliance is responsible for the administration of the university’s
Institutional Compliance Program, and the Executive Director of Audit, Compliance and Risk
Services is the Compliance Officer. The Executive Compliance Committee provides oversight
for the program.
REPORTING SUSPECTED NON-COMPLIANCE
Employee concerns and/or issues of suspected non-compliance should be addressed through
normal administrative channels whenever possible. However, UTSA employees also have the
following options for reporting issues of suspected non-compliance:
• The UTSA Hotline (the Hotline) is a mechanism for anonymous reporting of
suspected issues of non-compliance. The Hotline is administered by a company that
is unaffiliated with UTSA and acts as a neutral third party to accurately document
the issues reported and forward them immediately to the appropriate individuals at
UTSA for resolution. The toll-free number for the Hotline is
(877) 888-0002.
Additional information about the reporting procedure is included in the Compliance
Packet that every benefits-eligible employee receives and on the Audit, Compliance
and Risk Services Web site: http://www.utsa.edu/acrs/. In addition, flyers are posted
at each campus with the Hotline information.
• A UTSA Hotline Web-reporting option is also available for anonymous reporting of
suspected issues of noncompliance. You can access this Web site at https://www.tnwinc.
com/webreport/ and you will be prompted to answer a series of questions regarding the
nature of your complaint. The same company administers the phone Hotline and the
Web-reporting Hotline; reports are handled in the same manner.
• Use campus mail to reach the Office of Institutional Compliance and Risk Services
and Risk Services, located in the JPL Building on the 1604 Campus.
• Call the Office of Institutional Compliance and Risk Services, (210) 458-4992,
or any of the offices listed in this publication.
If you are not sure whether you are doing the right thing, ask yourself the
following questions:
Is the action in compliance with university policies and procedures?
Is the action legal?
How will it look in the newspaper?
If you are still not sure what to do, ask your supervisor or contact one of the
offices mentioned in this guide.
Use the guide as a tool to help you find answers to your questions.
