The mission of the Office of Community and Restorative Justice is to:

  • develop a repository of information;
  • promote applied research;
  • assess the efficacy and impact of restorative justice strategies;
  • assess the extent to which restorative justice principles and practices can be used to augment the traditional justice system in producing a safer society; and,
  • promote expanded use of the most effective restorative justice practices with victims, offenders and communities.
