Research Focuses on Nonprofit Management

Dr. Renée Nank teaches and researches in the areas of nonprofit management and public administration.  Her current research focuses on partnerships between the public and nonprofit sector.  Dr. Nank has conducted research on nonprofit-public partnerships in the provision of disaster recovery services and welfare reform.  Related research explores the implications on the nonprofit sector’s priorities and capacities as a result of relationships with the public or private sector.

Nank has also conducted multiple management assistance projects and reports with both the nonprofit and public sector that range from salary and pay studies, minority business enterprise strategies, and the examination of work processes and reporting of recommendations for improving work effectiveness and efficiency.  Nank also managed a large, multi-agency, county project that identified health and social indicators and developed comprehensive strategies for improving these indicators and the overall quality of life of residents.
