From Texas to Colorado
Professors Richard Harris and Juanita Firestone will be visiting professors during the Fall 2009 through Spring 2010 at the U.S. Air Force Academy Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership (DFBL). This department provides quality education to cadets across the breadth of the behavioral sciences and leadership studies. Richard and Juanita will teach two classes per semester.
On another note, Richard and Juanita won the Elizabeth Estherchild Best Research Paper award at the Southwestern Social Science Association Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. The name of the paper , which is being published in the next edition of Armed Forces Society is “Sexual Harassment in the U.S. Military Reserve Component: A Preliminary Analysis.”
In addition, the “Status of Women and Girls in San Antonio” Report in which Juanita was the Principal Investigator on the project, was released on March 6th during the international Women’s Day Celebration. Juanita presented the preliminary results. The full report will be available on the Mayor’s website.
