2008 - 2009 2nd Quarter Recipient

Business Affairs is proud to recognize Cynthia Govea, Information Technology Associate II, University Police, as a 2nd quarter recipient of the Celebrating Excellence Award for FY 2009.
 
Using her natural creativity, Cynthia was a major team player in her involvement with the upgrade and placement of the new surveillance cameras. Cynthia promoted change involving the department's ability to make emergency mass notifications to the UTSA community. She is responsible for a number of technological advancements in the police departments Communications Center as well as the training associated with this equipment. Her contributions to the police department and the UTSA community have been more than significant over the past year. She has taken the initiative to develop training plans and presentations that translate technical information into a language easily understood by her students. Cynthia communicates regularly with internal and external agencies associated with the police department. Because of the police departments critical mission, anytime a computer system went down, we depended on the IT office to repair the system as soon as possible. Now that Cynthia is a part of our team we have the capability to fix the vast majority of problems in-house.
