    University Peer Mentorship (UPM 1000)

    • Through the First-Year Experience (FYE) each incoming first-year student will be assigned a University Peer Mentor. Peer Mentors are dedicated and experienced UTSA students who have been trained to assist first-year students in adjusting to the rigors of university life by providing support and guidance to students on a variety of challenges.

    • UPM 1000 is a non-credit course that connects students to an assigned peer mentor in their academic study. Students in UPM will meet with their peer mentor throughout the semester and participate in a variety of activities and workshops. UPM Peer mentors guide students in exploring UTSA and help build key skills to assist students in their undergraduate experience.
