The Office of Environmental Health, Safety, and Risk Management's Occupational Safety Program's goal is to reduce the risk of injury for those who work at UTSA campuses and facilities. We accomplish this by developing and delivering safety training courses, conducting on-site job hazard assessments and making recommendations, and by assisting workers' efforts to comply with occupational safety policies, standards and regulations. When accidents do occur, we investigate and suggest corrective actions.
These hazard assessments play a vital role in workplace safety at UTSA. During the course of an assessment, we work with you to analyze job duties and procedures to identify potential hazards. In our subsequent report, we may recommend changes to procedures and/or personal protective equipment that can help to decrease the risk of injury. If you believe your job puts you at risk of injury, don't hesitate to contact us to schedule a job hazard assessment.
Other group safety training is can be arranged by request. Previous topics have included Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Globally Harmonized System, and Cart Safety. To request a customized training session, contact us.
