Driver Training Policies

UT System and UTSA policies govern use of state-owned, leased, hired, and non-owned (private) vehicles for University business. Among these policies are UTS 157 (insurance requirements for State-owned and leased vehicles), UTSA HOP 8.9 (operation of state-owned vehicles) and UTSA HOP 5.18 (student travel).

These policies require that authorized drivers participate in driver safety training and have an acceptable driving record.

Authorized drivers are:

• anyone driving state-owned or leased vehicles, or
• anyone driving students in state-owned, leased, or hired vehicles

Golf Cart Safety

The Texas Department of Insurance has issued a safety bulletin on golf cart safety.
