The function of Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management (EHSRM) Administration is to provide overall direction and administrative support for the many functions and services provided by divisional staff. For a complete listing of services provided click on any of the divisional links in the left margin of this page. The Director of the Office of EHSRM reports directly to the Associate Vice President - Administration as part of the Office of the Vice President for Business Affaris. Support functions provided by the Director and Administrative staff include—

•Departmental access control authority and approval
•Budget development and authority
•Leave reporting and payroll
•Travel arrangements, authority and approval
•Purchasing authority and approval
•Departmental Inventory management
•Departmental Database management
•Departmental Website management
•Program development and planning

In addition, the Director of EHSRM has been designated by UTSA as the institutional authority for the following—

•Institutional Safety Officer - as referenced by local, state or federal regulation
•Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for all matters pertaining to fire and life safety on campus and responding to State Fire Marshal requests
•Responsible Official for the UTSA Select Agent Program as mandated by CDC and USDA regulation
