The UTSA IS1403 course has a "test out" option which is administered by Testing Services for the College of Business. Current UTSA students may call our office (458-4125 1604 or 458-2941 DT) to register for this test series. If you are registered for an upcoming IS exam, please arrive to the Testing Office 15-30 minutes prior to your appt. time due to parking and intake issues. Students who need this course to declare a major as a class prerequisite or to graduate should give themselves a minimum of 2 to 3 months for the testing and credit posting process due to testing times available.

IS1403 consists of five modules: Windows, Word 2003, Excel 2003, Powerpoint 2003, and Access 2003. The Windows module covers Windows XP, Internet Explorer 6.0, and Outlook 2003. You must complete each module and achieve and overall average of 70% to receive credit for this course. You have four months to complete the process once you take the first exam. You may take these modules in any order but may only retest once in each module.

Before you can begin testing with us you must first purchase the required IS 1403 CD (approx. $60.00). The CD version at this time should be Verison 2.6. It must be a new CD; you will not be able to register with a used or copied CD. This CD is available at the UTSA or L&M Bookstores. Once you have purchased the CD you will need to go online and create a USER ID and PASSWORD. This site will ask for a COURSE ID NUMBER which is as follows:

Office 2003: 35kk3tq7

Once you are registered you may review training modules and practice questions.

All the testing modules must be taken at Testing Services. When you are ready to start testing, please call our office @ 210-458-4125 (1604) or 210-458-2941 (Downtown) to schedule a date and time. The fee for this test series is $25.00 check or money order payable to UTSA due at your first testing appointment.

NOTE: If you have previously enrolled in a section of IS1403 and received a grade, you cannot test out of the course.
