Placement Testing

Before a student can register for certain courses, most students are required to take tests to place them into an appropriate course level. The academic departments use placement tests for: Chemistry and Math.

Students who plan to enroll as freshman at UTSA should take these tests prior to their orientation in order to be properly placed in the appropriate course.

Students must register for these exams online by logging on to ASAP.

Important Parking Notice See Below:
All visitors coming to campus for the purpose of taking a test at Testing Services must get a Visitor parking hangtag from one of the visitor booths (John Peace Boulevard on the north side of campus and Edward Ximenes on the south side) prior to parking on campus. Go to the visitor booth and tell the staff person that you are on campus for testing. You will be required to show your testing paperwork. The Visitor Booths are open Monday – Thursday from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, and 7:30 am to 4:30 pm Fridays. You may park in the General Student spaces (unmarked spaces) on weekends.

You may not utilize this process if you are a current student. If you have not yet registered for classes you may utilize this process.

Visitors who are not taking a test, or are registered students, faculty, or staff, must park at the short-term parking spaces and pay the associated fee. Short-term spaces are located on the north and south sides of campus:
North Campus - in the numbered spaces on the roof of the Parking Garage on Margaret Tobin
South Campus - in the numbered spaces in lots 5, 7, and 8
