(June 26, 2017) -- The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is the Alamo City’s summer camps destination. Throughout the summer, UTSA will offer more than 60 camps in science, engineering, architecture, sports, music, writing, language, culture and more for kids, teens and young adults.
Campers will develop new skills or strengthen existing ones while experiencing what it’s like to be on a college campus. Campers will work on their athletic skills, build robots, explore archaeological techniques, develop musicianship and even learn Chinese and Japanese languages.
This week, UTSA is offering the following camps:
iTEC Camps
Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., Main and Downtown Campuses
Campers will explore the fields of science, technology, engineering and math through hands-on activities. This week, campers in kindergarten through 2nd grade rock out with geology and explore life science. Third through 5th grades campers become weather detectives and explore different branches of engineering to find out how things work. Campers in 6th through 8th grades program Sphero to solve different S.T.E.A.M. related challenges. Ninth through 12th graders learn how to program their own robots.
Choir Camp
Sunday to Wednesday, times vary, Main Campus
In its 21st year, the UTSA Choir Camp continues to be a leader in the Texas All-State Choir preparatory process. Choir leaders from prominent Texas high school music programs and UTSA's superb conductors and faculty provide an intensive study of the All-State Choir audition music.
Math Boot Camp
Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., Main Campus
This intense mathematics refresher is designed to improve campers’ skills in elementary and intermediate algebra through small group and individual instruction.
Roadrunner Readers Program
Monday to Thursday, 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., Downtown Campus
The tutoring sessions are designed to help children in 2nd through 8th grades who are reading below grade level. Tutors identify the child's strengths and needs and create highly engaging literacy experiences designed to support literacy growth and development.
Women’s Basketball Camp
Monday and Tuesday, times vary, Convocation Center, Main Campus
High school and very advanced junior high ladies will learn what it’s like to practice and play like a Roadrunner at this advanced women’s basketball camp.
Baseball Camp
Monday to Wednesday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., Roadrunner Field, Main Campus
Five to 14-year-olds will enjoy the Boys of Summer Youth Competition Camp. Campers will be broken into age appropriate teams that will rotate each evening through games, skills evaluations and drill work.
UTSA Soccer Academy
Monday to Sunday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., Park West Athletics Complex
The UTSA Soccer coaching staff and members of the UTSA Soccer team host its final Junior Elite Camp of the summer. Boys and girls in 5th through 8th grades can improve their skills during this advanced camp. High school elite girls will train during a weekend Future Roadrunner session.

Stop by our Denim Day display to take a photo in front of our Denim Wall, spin the "Is It Consent?" Wheel, and get a Concha or goodie.
