Outreach Programs

Center for Professional Excellence

The Center for Professional Excellence brings university faculty and practitioners together to create a lifelong learning resource. The center offers extracurricular courses, workshops, conferences, seminars, consulting and research programs to support professional excellence in business and other community institutions.

 

Community Outreach

The Office of Community Outreach, under the guidance of the Vice President for Extended Services, works with community leaders to promote higher education as an economic development resource. The office works closely with Admissions and other university offices on student recruitment efforts

Extended Education

The Office of Extended Education serves the region's adult, noncredit, professional and continuing education needs through a range of targeted programs, including short courses, workshops and training sessions More than 4,000 people are expected to participate this year.

K–16 Initiatives

UTSA's Office of K–16 Initiatives provides leadership in the reform of public schools. The office facilitates university and faculty involvement in public education through research and service based on the concept of partnerships and collaboration.

 

 

Legacy: Hands on the Past

Legacy: Hands on the Past is a program that provides tours to children in grades K–12 at the Center for Archaeological Research labs. The program includes lessons about the basics of archaeology, the prehistoric cultures of Texas, historic San Antonio, the world of ancient Mesoamerica and early humans.

 

Nonprofit Management Program

The mission of the Certification Program in Nonprofit Management Program, which was formerly known as Bridging Our Communities, is to strengthen the nonprofit community by developing leadership and management skills of nonprofit professionals, volunteers and board members. The program has two components required for certification: the Summer Institute for Leadership and Stewardship and the Nonprofit Management Program. The program is part of the Center for Policy Studies.

Prefreshman Engineering Program (PREP)

The Prefreshman Engineering Program (PREP) identifies high-achieving middle and high school students with the potential for and interest in becoming engineers and scientists, and reinforces their pursuit of these fields.
