Drug-Free Workplace

The University of Texas at San Antonio is a drug-free workplace.  The unauthorized purchase, manufacture, distribution, possession, sale, storage or use of alcohol, illegal drugs or controlled substances while on duty, while in or on premises or property owned or controlled by UTSA is prohibited by the UTSA Handbook of Operating Procedures, Chapter 9.18.

Employee needing assistance with alcohol or drug abuse problems are strongly encouraged to contact the Employees Assistance Program (EAP) at (210) 299-2400 or 1-800-442-0024 after hours and/or emergencies. 

At the discretion of the University, an employee may be referred to an assistance program and/or may be required to participate in and satisfactorily complete a chemical abuse rehabilitation program as a condition of continued employment.
