Housing & Residence Life at UTSA

Currently there are four housing options for students who choose to take advantage of all the "perks" that come with on-campus living. The fourth option, Laurel Village, recently opened in Fall of 2007.

Many students find living on campus to have many advantages so see if living on campus is a fit for you. If you want to live on campus, you MUST apply early, as housing is limited and available spaces fill quickly. We recommend that the application be submitted on-line as quickly as possible. Being admitted to UTSA does not guarantee that housing will be available on campus.

UTSA's Office of Housing and Residence Life provides student housing at Chaparral Village and Laurel Village.

UTSA currently has a private company that provides on-campus housing at Chisholm Hall and University Oaks.

The Application

UTSA students should complete the on-line housing application. A $200.00 deposit must be submitted within ten days from submitting the housing application. For Chisholm Hall and University Oaks applicants, $50.00 is held as a non-refundable application fee. For Chaparral Village and Laurel Village applicants, $25.00 is held as a non-refundable application fee.

The Contract

Before signing a housing contract for a particular community, the application and deposit may be transferred within the UTSA housing system without a penalty. Assignments for Chaparral and Laurel Village will be made on a first come, first served basis according to when the housing application was submitted. However, Chisholm Hall and the University Oaks Apartments assign students on a first come first served basis according to when the lease contract is received in the respective office.

The Deposit

The deposit will be refunded upon request, if all cancellation criteria are met and all monies owed to the particular community have been paid. Deposits are applied against unnecessary wear and damages and/or applied to cancellation fees. It is important to know the cancellation criteria for the particular community before signing a contract.
