Welcome to AFROTC Detachment 842 - our nation's premier detachment! We are a large, diversified, active and award-winning detachment focused on building the next generation of Air Force and Space Force officers.
Our detachment accepts students from across the San Antonio area including Alamo Colleges, Trinity University, UT Health Science Center, Our Lady of the Lake University, University of the Incarnate Word, St. Mary's University, Texas A&M University – San Antonio, and Schreiner University.

The cadre and cadets are the best of the best and continuously recognized at the national level. In 2022, Det 842 earned Southwest Region, Air Force ROTC, and Holm Center team of the year award.
