THE ALUMNI
ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The purpose
of the UTSA Alumni Association is to support the educational mission of
UTSA.
We do this
in many ways but none more important than our scholarship program. The
need is great as UTSA continues to attract record numbers of students –
students who will be the well-educated workforce and leaders in the
community. Since 1982, The Association has awarded over $721,000 in
scholarships to 275 deserving students.
The goal of
the Alumni Association is to distribute at least $60,000 in scholarships
annually to UTSA students.
For the
2008-2009 academic year, the Alumni Association awarded 38 scholarships, for a total
of $74,000. The average cumulative GPA for these scholars was
3.70.
Alumni
Association scholarships are consistently the highest dollar amount
awarded at UTSA. Each recipient receives at least $2,000 annually.
Scholarships are available for undergraduate and graduate students and
are renewable based on classification, full-time status, and academic requirements. |
