  John Egan
Classification: Freshman - first year scholarship recipient
High School Graduation: Flour Bluff High School, Corpus Christi, Texas, 2007
Major/Minor: Liberal Arts
Honors/Awards: Captain, football team; first team, all-district; first team, all-metro; first team, all south Texas; honorable mention, all-state; Wendy’s High School Heisman Award; National High School Honor Roll; Who’s Who Among American High School Students; National Honor Society
Community Service: Humane Society, Ronald McDonald House, Operation Paint-brush
Future Plans: To pursue a career in law as a defense attorney
Quote: “I am honored to have been awarded, what I consider to be the most prestigious scholarship to be given by The University of Texas at San Antonio. I do not take this honor for granted and am ready to put this much needed assistance to work.”

Future Plans: To become a pediatric physician

Future Plans: To obtain Ph.D. and M.D. degrees and a career as a neurosurgeon
