Community Studio
Beginning in fall 2007, the Department of Architecture will establish a store-front / community-based design studio to be located along the river in downtown San Antonio. The purpose of this studio, which is a joint project with San Antonio chapter of the American Institute of Architects, is to foster community engagement. The studio is positioned within the community and will become a center for urban and community projects and studies that reached beyond the inherent limitations of the traditional studio. As a beachhead, this studio will actively participate in the community, connecting to public at multiple levels with an aim to make a positive difference in San Antonio’s built environment.
