About the Exhibit

"Infinite Horizon: Visions of Texas" comprises images captured by five Texas photographers invited by the China Photographers Association to display their work Nov. 2-10 in Lishui City, in the Zhezhiang Province. The exhibit at the 14th Annual China International Photographic Art Exhibition offered the Chinese a distinctive and, for some, never-before-seen view of Texas.
The collection of images by photographers Peter Brown, Al Rendon, Ricardo Romo, Joel Salcido and Ansen Seale captures a unique perspective of South Texas. The publication of the photos in an earlier issue of Popular Photographer, China's premier photography magazine, led to the invitation for the exhibit.
After the exhibition, the five Texas photographers spent two days with their cameras in Wenzhou and Beijing, China, bringing back to the Lone Star State a new look at the Asian country. As a gesture of gratitude for the invitation to China, the UTSA Confucius Institute, which seeks to bridge Texan and Asian cultures, will host a future exhibit in San Antonio using the photographs taken by the Texas photographers in China.
