Ansen Seale

Ansen Seale is an artist living and working in San Antonio, Texas. Seale works with a special digital panoramic camera of his own invention. This camera captures a vertical slit of the scene over and over in rapid succession, in effect, swapping the horizontal dimension of the photo for the dimension of time. Instead of mirroring the world as we see it, this camera records a hidden reality. The apparent "distortions" in the images all happen in-camera as the image is being recorded. There are no Photoshop manipulations.

Seale's photographs have been exhibited in museums and galleries and have been collected by corporations and institutional and private collectors. He received a bachelor's degree in journalism, broadcasting and film and studio art from Trinity University.
