Six Steps of Administrative Program Assessment

Step 1: Define Outcomes-Describe the primary processes and key functions of your unit. Be concrete and focus on the desired quality you have for your services and functions.

Step 2: Determine Methods - Which methods will be used to understand how well the is achieving its mission and goals? Decide on a schedule for collection and analysis of information.

Step 3: Set Criteria - Establish the level of expected performance.

Step 4: Collect and Analyze -Examine the information collected and evaluate results against program expectations

Step 5: Use the Results - How is the information used to make program improvements?

Step 6:Close the loop – How will the information be shared with shareholders?
