Educational Leadership and Policy Studies hosts golf fund-raiserThe Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies will host
its Second Annual Scholarship Golf Fund-raiser June 25 at the Quarry Golf
Club. The day begins with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Annual flute camp slated for JuneThe UTSA Flute Camp directed by Rita Linard is scheduled for June 14-18
in the Arts Building on the 1604 Campus. The camp is open to all area
middle and high school flutists and will conclude with a concert at 3
p.m. June 18. The concert is free and open to all. Two UTSA offices team up to host summer enrichment campsThe Office of K-16 Initiatives and the UTSA Honors College are hosting
three summer enrichment camps at the Downtown Campus beginning with a
Science Explorer Camp for students entering grades 4-5. The camp runs
from 9 a.m. to noon June 14-25 and costs $50 per person. Masterminds Camp
for students entering grades 6-8 also runs from 9 a.m. until noon, but
begins June 28 and ends on July 2. Cost for the camp is $75. Finally,
the Challenger Program for students entering grades 9-11 will run from
9 a.m. to noon June 21-25 at a cost of $75 per camper. All three camps
are at the Downtown Campus. Texas Folklife Festival calls for volunteersVolunteers are needed for a variety of exciting opportunities at the
Texas Folklife Festival, including working in special promotions, souvenir
sales, the information center and more. Orientation will be 6-7 p.m. Monday,
May 17 and Wednesday, May 19 at the Institute of Texan Cultures. Office of Information Technology collecting PC informationDuring the next week, a prompt will appear on PCs. The Office of Information
Technology is asking that all computer uses take the time to accurately
fill in the form that appears. Contact information is needed in order
to help provide security updates to all UTSA PCs. There are some revisions… at the HOPPlease note revisions to the following policies in the UTSA Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOP): 2.10 Faculty Reappointment, Tenure, and Promotion Periodic updates to the HOP online will be announced in @UTSA. Campus Rec invites faculty and staff to come out and playThis summer campus recreation is planning a variety of activities for
faculty and staff. There are no commitments, no registration forms and
no fees (except for golf and bowling). Participants do not have to be
members of the Recreation and Wellness Center. The summer activities begin
with co-rec softball from 5 to 7 pm. June 3 and June 10 at the intramural
field. There is volleyball and racquetball from 5 to 7 p.m. June 17 in
the Rec Center, followed by a group run/walk at 5 p.m. June 24 on the
UTSA Track. The Rec Center plays host to co-rec basketball from 5 to 7
p.m. July 1 with a "Best Ball Golf Tournamnet" July 9 and team
bowling July 15. The summer activities conclude with a barbeque potluck
from 4:30 to 6 p.m. July 22. Fox & Hound to host UTSA softball NCAA selection show partyThe Southland Conference regular season and tournament champion UTSA
softball team will find out its NCAA Regional assignment on Sunday, May
16, when the 64-team Division I bracket is revealed live on ESPNews from
7:30 to 8 p.m. A watch party for the team, fans and media is set for Fox
