Purchase order vendor copies now available online

Departments completing small purchase orders now can access online a final vendor copy in the new version of the Point Plus system. In the creation stage, the purchase order is marked "Pending Final Approval." On approval of the PO, the software creates a PDF version of a valid, signed purchase order that can be e-mailed, faxed or mailed to a vendor. This makes it unnecessary for departments to contact the Purchasing Office when a copy of an order requires submission to a vendor. Because of the new enhancement, effective Jan. 10 the Purchasing Office will not keep hard copies of purchase orders. Departments should note that Section 2.201 of the Texas Business and Commerce Code stipulates that contracts exceeding $500 must be in writing to be enforceable. Therefore, a purchase order copy must be submitted to the vendor on purchases exceeding $500. Questions? Contact your assigned buyer in the Purchasing Office.

Plastic, aluminum and glass recycling begins at UTSA

Because of strong interest in recycling by UTSA student organizations, the UTSA Department of Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management has partnered with the organizations to initiate a recycling program for plastic, aluminum and glass. In the near future, look for recycling containers that will be placed near most gathering areas and refreshment machines. Help keep UTSA and our environment clean... recycle!
