David Hernandez named UTSA chief of police

Officials at The University of Texas at San Antonio announced today that David Hernandez, currently the commanding officer of the Special Investigation Section in the Rochester (New York) Police Department, has accepted the position of director of public safety and chief of police at the university.

"With more than 20 years of law enforcement experience coupled with an exceptional educational background and proven leadership skills, Hernandez will serve the university well as chief of police," said Kerry Kennedy, vice president for business affairs. "He will be responsible for the leadership, planning, implementation, management and operation of the university's police department."
