Rosalie Ambrosino named UTSA provost

UTSA officials announced today the selection of Rosalie Ambrosino as provost and vice president for academic affairs, the university's second-highest ranking official. The first woman to serve in the role at UTSA, Ambrosino begins her new duties immediately. President Ricardo Romo selected Ambrosino, former UTSA vice president for student affairs, after a nationwide search netted a slate of more than 80 candidates for the position. Ambrosino replaces Guy Bailey, who left UTSA in December to become chancellor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Bailey was UTSA provost for seven years.
