Trinidad selected as U. of Washington vice chancellorThe University of Washington selected Ysabel Trinidad, UTSA interim vice president for student affairs, to be vice chancellor for administration at its Tacoma campus. Trinidad's appointment is effective Sept. 1. Read more on UTSA Today.
Price named interim vice president for student affairsPresident Ricardo Romo announced today that Kevin Price will serve as interim vice president for student affairs effective Aug. 3. Price replaces Ysabel Trinidad, who was named vice chancellor for administration at the University of Washington, Tacoma. Read more on UTSA Today.
July 31 is deadline for FY 2005-06 work requestsJuly 31 is the last day of this fiscal year to submit work requests with required approvals to the Office of Facilities. Only charges for services performed, including labor and materials posted to work orders by Aug. 31, will be charged to FY 2005-06 funds. Requests received after July 31 will be evaluated on an individual basis. The Office of Facilities cannot guarantee a work request processed after this deadline will be fulfilled until the new fiscal year begins Sept. 1. Work requests to be funded by fiscal year 2006-2007 funds can be submitted before Sept. 1, but will be processed Sept. 1 or after. Indicate on work requests the appropriate fiscal year. Order 2006-07 parking permit onlineAvoid the last minute rush and long lines! Once again, Parking and Transportation Services offers the convenience of purchasing 2006-07 UTSA parking permits online via ASAP. Order online by July 30 and receive your permit via U.S. mail at your home address. Payment options include MasterCard and Discover credit cards. Faculty and staff have the added convenience of payroll deduction.
UTSA community invited to self-defense classesThis summer faculty, staff and students can participate in self-defense classes sponsored by the UTSA Aikido Club beginning Wednesday, July 12. Classes will meet each Wednesday from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Convocation Center, upstairs on the west side. Participants should wear clothing that allows movement and flexibility. I-Drive storage space tripled for faculty, staffThe Office of Information Technology tripled i-drive online file storage space to 1 gigabyte on May 29. Previously, the storage limit was 350 megabytes. More information: I-Drive Web site
All-events athletics season tickets discounted for faculty, staffUTSA Athletics 2006-07 season tickets are available for UTSA faculty, staff and friends at $60 per pass. As a special offer, each additional pass is $40. The offer is good while reserved seats are available. Tickets are transferable and can be given to family members or friends. While the supply lasts, receive a free UTSA t-shirt with a season ticket purchase. To receive a shirt, sizes S-XL, contact Joe Vasquez, athletics sales associate, at (210) 458-4665 or 649-5167. OIT opens Web site for Outlook helpThe Office of Information Technology has developed a Web site, UTSA Community Messaging Center, which describes OIT services. The site includes an FAQ section for managing your Outlook e-mail storage space, a link to new features for Blackberry users and more.
Psychology department needs study participantsHealthy adults age 60 and older are needed for a new UTSA study on how the mind works. Participants can earn $15. The study takes 90 minutes to 2 hours and will be conducted on the 1604 Campus.
