UTSA Bowling Night Aug. 15 benefits women's scholarships

Teams from the Budget Office and the Office of the Registrar will host the third annual UTSA Bowling Night fundraiser at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15 at the University Bowl, Interstate 10 at DeZavala Road. Open to the UTSA community and friends, the event will include a silent auction and door prizes. Two games plus shoe rental are $15. Profits will benefit the Walk For Women's Athletics, Oct. 28, which supports scholarships for women athletes. Participants can register in teams of six to eight, or register individually and be placed on a team. Registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 11.

Parking lot striping set for Aug. 8-12

Parking and Transportation Services will re-stripe some parking lots this week at the 1604 Campus. The maintenance work will require closing some parking spaces. Every effort was made to distribute the work to minimize the impact on parking customers.

Striping schedule:

  • Tuesday, Aug. 8 -- lot 6 (south section), lot 10 and lot 12 (student section)
  • Wednesday, Aug. 9 -- lot 14 (south section near Chisholm Hall), lot 12 (faculty/staff section), lot 5 (south section) and lot 7 (south section)
  • Thursday, Aug. 10 - lot 8 and P.E. Building lot
  • Friday, Aug. 11 - lot 1B (entire lot adjacent to tennis courts)
  • Saturday, Aug. 12 - lot 3, lot 4 (except for north section), Business Building spaces and Rhoderick Key lot (adjacent to Arts Building)

 

Purchase order deadline extended to Aug. 11

The Purchasing Office has extended the deadline for purchase requests (PB4's) to Aug. 11, 2006. There is no guarantee that purchase orders will be created, but every effort will be made to accommodate requests.

Sign up for end-of-fiscal-year workshops

End-of-fiscal-year workshops are available through TXCLASS. The valuable workshops offer information on budgets and end-of-year administrative procedures from budget, human resources, payroll, accounting, disbursements, purchasing, travel and Define. UTSA receives water variance at 1604 Campus

UTSA has received a variance from the San Antonio Water System (SAWS) to permit daily watering at the 1604 Campus within the John Peace Library Building vista area, the space between the JPL and Arts buildings. The watering is for new sod installed to re-vegetate areas disturbed by contractor work.

UTSA hosts free employers' forum Sept. 8

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) in partnership with UTSA and the San Antonio Human Resource Management Association will host a free employers' forum with 90-minute workshops to assist employers and answer questions regarding workplace laws administered by DOL. The event is 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., Sept. 8 at the Downtown Campus Buena Vista Street Building. Free parking will be available at the UTSA Cattlemen's Square lot.
