John Peace Library Building roof to be replacedWork is in progress for complete replacement of the roof of the John Peace Library Building at the 1604 Campus. During the project, there will be little or no interruption in building access. The project is scheduled for completion by late June. ITC calls for volunteers for dragon exhibitUTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures seeks UTSA community members to serve as volunteer staff for the April 22-Nov. 4 "Here Be Dragons!" exhibit that explores the origins, symbolism and cultural significance of the dragon through history. Volunteer hours count toward the "Your Time Counts" UT Service and Civic Participation Program. Volunteers will serve as support staff and tour guides for the main exhibit floor and staff for the special children's area, Draco's Den. ITC volunteer office staff will provide training. Pardon our dust: UC rooms to close temporarilyAs a part of the University Center expansion project at the 1604 Campus, rooms in the University Center will undergo a series of life-and-safety upgrades from May 15, 2007, to Jan. 31, 2008. The upgrades include renovations to the sprinkler and fire alarm systems and remodeling bathrooms to meet ADA standards. In order to complete the huge project by August 2008, many meeting rooms and other spaces will be closed temporarily. Buy UTSA parking permit now for next yearUTSA parking permits for the 2007-08 academic year are now on sale now through the ASAP online information system. For the next academic year, permit hangtags were redesigned using a sturdier card stock and three student permit categories were added. Faculty and staff can purchase a permit by payroll deduction and spread the cost over 12 months. Either pre-tax or post-tax payment can be selected. Read more on UTSA Today.
