Autodesk CAD software license fee increasesThe UTSA Office of Information Technology (OIT) has increased the license fee for Autodesk computer-aided design (CAD) software. In fiscal year 2006-2007, the UTSA site license fee increased to $30,045; divided by the number of UTSA users it would be a $313 cost per license. Autodesk users at UTSA were charged only $200 per license. Instead of passing along the total cost of the increase, OIT instituted a graduated fee increase. This fiscal year, each Autodesk user will be charged $250 per license. Next year, it will be increased to $300. OIT will cover the difference between the actual cost of the software and the license fee charged. More information: software@utsa.edu or Glenda Norton, 458-4103
