QEP pre-proposals are under reviewThe deadline for Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) pre-proposals has passed, and submissions are being reviewed. The QEP Committee will select three or four exemplary pre-proposals to be developed as full proposals. A $2,500 summer stipend will be awarded for the development of each full proposal. Sixth golf tournament benefits ELPS scholarshipsThe Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies (ELPS) will host the sixth annual ELPS Scholarship Golf Tournament with a shotgun tee-off at 8 a.m., Friday, June 20 at the Canyon Springs Golf Club. The tournament is open to the public with proceeds benefiting the ELPS Scholarship Fund. Each player will receive breakfast, lunch, golf shirt, "goodie" bag and a surprise gift with opportunities to win prizes. Fiscal year-end purchasing dates are revisedThe purchasing office has revised year-end purchasing dates. In an effort to allow time to make important last-minute purchases, the purchasing office will send periodic reminders concerning changes to the end-of-year PBO (small-dollar purchase order) process.

New name: CALS is Center for Research and Training in the SciencesThe UTSA Center for Advanced Life Sciences (CALS) is now the Center for Research and Training in the Sciences (CRTS). President Ricardo Romo approved the name change to more accurately reflect the support provided by the center across disciplines in the College of Sciences. CTRS is the umbrella for eight programs: MBRS-SCORE, MBRS-RISE, MARC, RCMI, SNRP, Sloan Scholarship Foundation, STEM/UTeach and ICNAM. HOP extended education policy is updatedUTSA Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOP) policy 2.30, Extended Education and the Awarding of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) at UT-San Antonio, was changed to update titles, terminology and the process involved with CEUs and their approval.
