Annual benefits enrollment runs July 1-31Annual enrollment for fiscal year 2009 benefits runs July 1-31. Download a Word document with details on annual enrollment meetings and benefits information fairs at the 1604 and Downtown campuses. There will be a July 17 meeting at the 1604 Campus, which will be simulcast to the Downtown Campus. A July 9 meeting will be conducted in Spanish at the 1604 Campus. During July, benefits-eligible employees and retirees can make online benefit changes using UT Touch. Changes will be effective Sept. 1, 2008. Employees must make these elections each year during annual enrollment:
Watch for your UT Touch Coverage Option Letter with details on your current coverage, available coverage and resources to learn more about the plans. The letter will come by U.S. mail or e-mail.
Payroll deadline varies because of July 4 holidayJuly 1 is the voucher cut-off date for the semi-monthly July 7 payday for the June 16-30 pay period. Usually there are two days for the voucher cut-off, but it is reduced to one day this month because of the July 4 holiday. Departments must submit OV documents with "final approved" status by 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 1. More information: Payroll Office, 458-4280
UTSA acquires new grant proposal submission systemBeginning July 1, all UTSA grant proposals will be entered and routed through Cayuse424, a new Web-based system purchased by the university. The new system is easier to use than the previous PureEdge or Adobe applications. Cayuse424 supports all federal applications for National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation grants submitted through grants.gov. Applications for other federal or non-federal sponsored grants also will be routed through Cayuse424. ARAMARK offers 'Real Food on Campus'The UTSA Office of Business Affairs recently signed a contract with ARAMARK for UTSA dining services. ARAMARK received the new contract after proposals were considered from several vendors. Student surveys were completed in May, resulting in the new Roadrunner Café "Real Food on Campus" concept. In upcoming months, food venues will change dramatically at both the 1604 and Downtown campuses. To introduce faculty and staff to the new Roadrunner Café concept, ARAMARK is offering a summer special -- all-you-can-eat breakfast, lunch or dinner for $5.
