It's not too late: Give to SECC through Oct. 31

If you haven't donated to the State Employee Charitable Campaign, now is the time! SECC runs through Oct. 31. As of Oct. 29, UTSA has 56 percent employee participation in SECC. For assistance, contact your Area Delegate or the UTSA Office of External Affairs at 458-5102.

Early voting in Main Building is through Oct. 31

UTSA is an early-voting site for voters registered in Bexar County. Early voting for the Nov. 4 elections runs 8 a.m.-8 p.m. through Oct. 31 at the Main Building ground floor lobby on the 1604 Campus.

Hydrant replacement brings 1604 Campus water outage

Replacement of a fire hydrant at Tom Frost Plaza on the 1604 Campus will cause a water outage from 10 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 8 to 10 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 9. Buildings affected by the outage are John Peace Library Building; Main Building; Business Building; Biotechnology, Sciences and Engineering Building; and Arts Building.

HR Training offers Microsoft Office 2007 classes

If you plan to install the Microsoft Office 2007 suite on your UTSA PC, training classes will be offered. Developed by staff members from the UTSA Distance Learning and Academic Technology group, classes will be offered through the Human Resources Training and Development program.

Courses include:

  • Get Up to Speed with Microsoft Office 2007 (Nov. 3-4, Dec. 1-2)
  • Outlook 2007 (Nov. 17-18, Dec. 8-9)
  • Access 2007 (Nov. 19-20, Dec. 2-3)
  • PowerPoint 2007 (Nov. 11-12, Dec. 10-11)
  • Excel 2007 (Nov. 11-12, Dec. 10-11)
  • Word 2007 (Nov. 5-6, Dec. 3-4)

Student Health Services provides flu vaccinations

UTSA Student Health Services is offering flu vaccinations for students, faculty and staff at the Downtown and 1604 campuses. If you have not had the flu vaccine this season, consider it. The cost is $15 for students, $20 for faculty and staff, payable by cash or check. View times and locations on UTSA Today.

HOP policies are updated

Three updates have been made in the UTSA Handbook of Operating Procedures (HOP). Periodic updates to the HOP online are announced in @UTSA.

  • Policy 3.1, Annual Non-Faculty Performance Evaluation Program, was updated. The evaluation process is more clearly defined in Section IV.
  • The HOP General Statement was updated.
  • Policy 1.1, Administrative Officers, was revised to include current administrative officers and their duties.
