HR and Staff Council announce employee discount program

The Office of Human Resources and Staff Council announce the UTSA Employee Discount Program. The program begins Sept. 1 with discounts for UTSA faculty and staff members at many San Antonio area businesses. With a minimum discount of 10 percent, categories will include restaurants, automotive, fashion, health and beauty, sports and entertainment, home and garden, and more. Come to Late Night at the Rec for info, fun and activities

The Department of Campus Recreation will host the sixth annual "Late Night at the Rec" event from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 22 at the Recreation Center on the Main Campus. A UTSA tradition, the evening of music, food, games and prizes is open to UTSA students, faculty and staff. In addition to fun activities, participants will learn about programs and services relating to health, recreation and wellness.

Cultural Connections receptions help new Roadrunners meet UTSA community

As part of UTSA Roadrunner Days, the Inclusion and Community Engagement Center will host the fourth annual Cultural Connections receptions to welcome new and transfer students joining the diverse UTSA community. Open to all UTSA students, faculty and staff, the receptions will be in the University Center Denman Room (2.01.28), Main Campus. Receptions are scheduled for students who self-identify as members of particular groups including African-American and Black, Hispanic or Latino/Latina, GLBTQ (gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning), Asian and Pacific islanders.

Order now: South Parking Garage faculty/staff permits

Faculty and staff members who would like to utilize the South Parking Garage on the Main Campus are encouraged to purchase a garage permit now because of limited availability; it is estimated that when students return next week the garage permits will be in high demand. The cost of a faculty/staff garage permit is $600 per year. Log on to ASAP today and order your South Garage parking permit.

General Stores to close for inventory

General Stores, part of Purchasing and Distribution Services in the Central Receiving Building, will close for inventory Aug. 25-31. Departmental staff members are encouraged to plan accordingly.

Payroll announces one-day voucher cut-off and payroll calendar update

The semi-monthly payroll period for Aug. 16-31 to be paid Sept. 4 will have a one-day voucher cut-off on Sept. 1. All vouchers must be entered and approved by 3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 1. This is the last payroll of the fiscal year, so it can't be late.

Additionally, the payroll calendar for FY 2010 has been posted online.
