UTSA hosts town meetings on flu for students, parents, faculty and staffThe UTSA Office of Business Continuity and Emergency Management and Student Health Services will present four town meetings, "The Flu and You," for UTSA students, parents, faculty and staff. See the schedule below of the meetings at the Downtown Campus and Main Campus. Presentations will center on influenza preventative actions, response measures and vaccination information. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about the evolving situation concerning both seasonal flu and the H1N1 flu virus. UTSA President's Distinguished Lecture Series features Segway inventorDean Kamen, a member of the National Inventors Hall of Fame and the inventor of the Segway Personal Transporter, will address the UTSA community as the UTSA President's Distinguished Lecture Series 2009 featured speaker. Free and open to the public, the lecture is 4 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17 in the University Center Retama Auditorium (2.02.02) on the Main Campus. SACS-COC Compliance Certification Report is available onlineThe UTSA SACS-COC Compliance Certification Report has been submitted to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. This report is the first component in the process for reaffirmation of accreditation. The final report is available now online for UTSA faculty and staff. Read the report at the UTSA SACS Web site (Select "Enter Report" in the top menu and log in using your UTSA network ID and password.) Office of Institutional Compliance updates Management Assessment ToolThe Office of Institutional Compliance recently updated the Management Assessment Tool (MAT) for fiscal year 2010. Account administrators (directors, deans, department heads and principal investigators) are required to be familiar with the contents of the MAT and should use it as a tool for properly maintaining the functions of their departments or areas of responsibility. The MAT covers topics such as fiscal management, human resources, EEO compliance, information security and more. Access the MAT at the Audit, Compliance and Risk Services Web site.
