Lecturer I/II (Biosciences)

The Department of Biology at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) invites applications for Lecturer I/II (Biosciences).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: (1) Master’s degree in Biology or related field; (2) MS Office experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Lecturer I: Teaching experience and qualifications comparable to those in the untenured, tenure-track position.
Lecturer II: A minimum of two years teaching experience at UTSA or commensurate experience at another institution in Biology.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in Biology or related field. Previous experience teaching in a Biology laboratory is highly desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties associated with these positions include, but are not limited to, instruction of Bio 1033, Drugs and Society, Bio 1233/1343, Non-majors Biology I and II, Bio 1404/1414, Majors Introductory Biology I and II, Bio 3213, Animal Behavior or Bio 3413, Physiology. Additional duties include, collaborating with other faculty teaching sections of these courses to coordinate, advance, and assess the curriculum. The faculty members assigned to instruct laboratory sections will uphold and enforce laboratory safety rules and policies at all times, including timely and successful completion of all safety and regularly compliance training as required by law. Faculty must be available to teach day and evening sections.
