Over $1.8 Million Allocated to Business Affairs’ Departments

Responding to the many needs expressed to me over the past year and as I promised during the Business Affairs Forum in May, I am providing additional funding to allow for staffing increases and addressing other needs.  I have allocated more than $1.8 million to Business Affairs departments over last years’ budgets. With this funding, we anticipate hiring at least 40 additional staff members ($1.3 million), significantly increasing departmental operations budgets (M&O) ($80,000), and providing for various equipment needs ($430,000).  While Facilities Services received the largest allocation, each Associate Vice President and Director reporting to me received a portion of the funds.

As has been said many times over the last year, we do not have enough resources to address all of the many and varied needs of all the Business Affairs departments, but this 2006 allocation, approaching $2 million, should have a significant impact and provide assistance in many areas.
