SPRING JOB FAIR. The San Antonio Current is hosting a Spring Job Fair Friday, May 16 at the Omni San Antonio Hotel at 9821 Colonnade Blvd from 10am-3pm.  Dress to impress and come ready to meet with the area’s top employers for on the spot interviews.  Participating employers are still being added but already confirmed are UPS, AFNI, Healthcare Resolution Services, Demo’s Greek Food, Job Ready Training, Taco Cabana, Nurses Etc, Omni Hotel, Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Harris Connect, Roy Maas Youth Alternatives, Education Services, San Antonio Current, The St. Anthony Hotel, US Border Patrol, Ace Cash Express, and Rackspace.  A free laptop computer will be given away to one lucky person who attends the job fair.

NEW Live Chat Hours. Beginning Monday, May 12, 2008 our Live Chat hours will change to Monday - Friday, 1 PM to 5PM. This change will make a Career Services Representative available during the afternoon - one of our peak periods.

    All Across Texas logo All Across Texas is an exciting new program endorsed by the College of Engineering and Career Services that serves as a source of information to engineering and computer science students by providing a direct link to paid internships across Texas. Internships are offered throughout the year and are with companies such as HP, Raytheon, NASA and Texas Instruments. In addition to the internships, take part in their educational webcasts, participate in blogs with industry experts and expand your network.

    Top 200 Intern Employers for 2008. CollegeGrad.com, the #1 Entry Level Job Site, recently announced the Top 200 Intern Employers for 2008. According to the results of the 2008 Top Entry Level Employers survey, current college students can expect Top Intern Employers to hire more than 46,000 interns in 2008. 

    The Top Intern Employers list details the 2008 internship hiring plans for 200 employers nationwide, and is available online at www.CollegeGrad.com/topemployers/internships.shtml. Each employer page also details projections for entry and masters level hiring for the 2008 recruiting year.


    Top Master's Level Employers. CollegeGrad.com, the #1 Entry Level Job Site, recently announced the Top 100 Master's Level Employers for 2008. Good news for students finishing their master's program: the results of the 2008 Top Entry Level Employers survey reveal that Top Master's Employers plan to increase their master's hiring by an astounding 22% in 2008.

    The Top Master's Employers list details the 2008 master's hiring plans for 100 employers nationwide, and is available online at www.CollegeGrad.com/topemployers/masters.shtml. Each employer page also details projections for entry and intern level hiring for the 2008 recruiting year.

    Among this year's Top 100 Master's Employers listed by CollegeGrad.com, 59% anticipate hiring more graduates in 2008 than 2007. 28% will hire the same number and 13% will be hiring fewer master's grads than in 2007.


    HACU scholarships available to college students
    HACU has announced the HACU Scholarship Program for the 2008-09 academic year. A total of more than $350,000 will be awarded to eligible students who demonstrate a financial need, meet program criteria, and attend a HACU-member institution at the time scholarship awards are made. Scholarship information and online application is available here. Deadline for applications and supporting documentation is May 23, 2008. Scholarships awards will be made in August.

    The NACE International Student Virtual Career Fair is free to international students at NACE-member schools who:

    • wish to return to their home country for full-time or internship opportunities.

    • are currently pursuing one-year Optional Practical Training (OPT) and/or long-term opportunities in the United States.

    • are currently pursuing summer Curricular Practical Training (CPT) internships in the United States.
