As a Career Counselor at UTSA, Karen Ivy currently focuses primarily on assisting students whose majors are within the College of Sciences. She has her Masters Degree in Counseling Psychology and has finished her coursework for her Doctorate of Counseling Psychology, both from Texas A&M University in College Station. Previously, she has worked with high school students in the Rio Grande Valley, assisting them with career planning and adjustment to college. She serves as the liaison between Career Services and the Health Professions Office. She is a member of Texas Cooperative Education and Internship Association, National Association of College and Employers, National Career Development Association, American Psychological Association, Texas Counseling Association, and Texas Career Development Association.

MESSAGE to STUDENTS: Career planning is an integral part of your four-year experience here at UTSA. And, for Science majors in particular, career exploration during these four years is critical. I'm here to help you make decisions about the path that you will pursue upon graduation and I look forward to helping you make a smooth transition after college.

All Across Texas - All Across Texas is an exciting new program endorsed by Career Services that serves as a source of information to engineering and computer science students by providing a direct link to paid internships across Texas. Internships are offered throughout the year and are with companies such as HP, Raytheon, NASA and Texas Instruments. In addition to the internships, take part in their educational webcasts, participate in blogs with industry experts and expand your network.
