Grants and Contracts Assistant
The Department of Chemistry at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a “Grants and Contracts Assistant” position (Posting # 20080033) starting Spring 2008 pending budget approval. This is a Classified and benefits eligible position.
Requirements: At least a High School Diploma or GED and three years of accounting and reporting experience.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Science or Engineering from an accredited institution.
Preferred Skills: experience with Define, purchasing, grant reconciliation, and payroll preparation.
Job Duties: providing guidance to faculty on grants and contracts related financial and administrative matters, tracking grant expenses and preparing compliance reports, assisting faculty in preparation and submission of grants, and purchasing for grant accounts.

Chemical Education Faculty Position
The Department of Chemistry at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in Chemical Education at the Associate/Full Professor level starting Fall 2008 pending budget approval. Successful applicants for this position will be recognized for excellence in teaching, research in chemical education, and effective collaboration with the educational community. Responsibilities include: (1) scholarly activities; (2) development of a chemical education concentration in the M.S. program; (3) teaching and pedagogical coordination in the general chemistry program; (4) outreach activities in the educational community. Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in chemistry or chemical education and academic achievement in chemical education. The Chemistry Department offers the Ph.D., M.S., B.S., B.A. degrees.
