UTSA offers a wide variety of master's and doctoral programs that are academically strong, fulfill the mission and goals of UTSA, and meet the needs of a rapidly growing local and state population. UTSA is the second-largest institution in the University of Texas System and has been one of the state's fastest-growing public universities for the last decade especially the Graduate School. The university's three campuses provide access and opportunity for large numbers of historically underserved students. More than 57 percent of UTSA's students come from groups underrepresented in higher education. Many students are the first in their families to attend a college or university. Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education recently ranked UTSA 11th in the nation in awarding master's degrees to Hispanic students and third in the nation for bachelor's degrees.

There are more than 5,000 students enrolled in 9 undergraduate degree programs and 15 graduate programs within the College of Sciences. The College of Science is committed to ensuring that all of our students receive the encouragement, assistance, and superior quality educational experience they need to go on to successful careers in academia, business, and or science
