Paul W. CarterDirector of Development/Annual Giving(210) 458-4938 paul.carter@utsa.edu Paul, who came to UTSA in February 2002 as development officer for the College of Engineering, moved to the Development Office in May 2004. Previously, the UT-Tyler graduate spent almost a decade with the Boy Scouts of America before becoming the chief development officer for the American Red Cross in Houston. He moved to the Red Cross national headquarters in Washington, D.C. and became vice president for development in 1998. |

Linda Lopez-GeorgeDirector of Development/Corporate and Business Relations(210) 458-4488 linda.lopezgeorge@utsa.edu Linda joined the Development staff in November 2002. A graduate of UT-Austin with a bachelor's degree in government and a master's degree in public administration, she came to UTSA from St. Mary's University, where she was development officer for the School of Law. Linda also has served as regional director of development for Washington State University-Spokane and acting director of development/alumni relations at Gonzaga University School of Law. |

Janice OdomAssistant Vice President for Advancement Services(210) 458-5160 janice.odom@utsa.edu After two years as development officer for the College of Liberal and Fine Arts, Janice joined the central Development Office staff in September 2002 and was named to her current position in March 2008. She came to San Antonio from UT-Pan American, where she was director of university relations. An honors graduate of the University of North Texas with a B.A. in journalism, she earned an M.A. at New Mexico Highlands University, where she served as assistant to the president and executive director of university relations. |

Brian Wallace, CFREDirector of Development/Gift Planning(210) 458-4154 brian.wallace@utsa.edu Brian offers assistance to individual donors making gifts for the University’s capital, endowment and programmatic needs. He came to UTSA in November 2005 from the University of the Incarnate Word, where he helped donors make gifts through wills, annuities and trusts. Brian has a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from Oblate College in Washington, D.C., a Master of Divinity degree from Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio and extensive experience in international development. |

Mary JacksonDirector of Advancement/College of Sciences(210) 458-4710 mary.jackson@utsa.edu Mary joined the College of Sciences in July 2007. She relocated to Texas from Richmond, Virginia , where she worked as a director of major gifts for The Community Idea Stations, central Virginia ’s public television and radio stations. Her previous higher education positions include working at Christian Brothers University and Kennesaw State University . She completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Tech and a master’s degree at the College of William and Mary, both in English. |

A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, she also holds an M.A. in international affairs from George Washington University and a certificate in Spanish language and culture from Universidad Complutense de Madrid in Spain. |

Chris BischoffAssociate Director of Development/College of Education and Human Development(210) 458-6503 chris.bischoff@utsa.edu Chris came to UTSA in August 2007 after a tenure as a major gifts officer at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin. Prior to entering fundraising, he served as an officer in the U.S. Navy and worked in industrial contract sales. He holds a bachelor’s degree from TLU and is a graduate of the Armed Forces Staff College. Chris’ son, Kurt, is a graduate student at UTSA pursuing a M.S. in biotechnology. |

Before returning to her alma mater, she was a development officer with the American Red Cross-Southwest Service Area, development supervisor for the San Antonio Zoological Society; director of annual support for the YMCA of San Antonio & The Hill Country; and a fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. |

A native of Beeville, Texas, Jana earned a B.S. degree in agricultural development from Texas A&M University in 1996 and an M.S. in agricultural education, with a communication emphasis, from Texas Tech University in 1998. Before going to the FFA, she was a marketing specialist with the Texas Department of Agriculture. |

Benga AdeekoEndowment Compliance Officer(210) 458-5539 benga.adeeko@utsa.edu Benga joined the Development Office in July 2007 after working for 16 years in the Accounting Office, where he monitored all gift accounts. In his role as Endowment Compliance Officer, he ensures that endowment funds are used according to the donor’s intent and is responsible for reporting on the use of endowed gifts to the UT System. Benga holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and a M.B.A. from Eastern Illinois University. |

Formerly, she was assistant director of annual giving at the Kansas University Endowment Association. At UTSA, she supervises a development services team that is responsible for gift processing, donor records and fundraising reporting. |

Her first work with scholarships was as a student assistant in the scholarship office at The University of Texas at Austin, where she earned a B.A. in English and German. In 2002, Karen completed a M.A. in communication arts from UIW. She brings a wealth of student financial service and data management experience to UTSA. |

A graduate of St. Norbert College in Wisconsin, she previously worked as coordinator of planned giving at the United States Naval Academy Foundation in Maryland, and began her development career with the Association of Graduates, U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Heather joined the UTSA development team in 2004. |

Genevieve LopezAnnual Fund Phone Center Coordinator(210) 458-5157 genevieve.lopez@utsa.edu A 2005 cum laude graduate of UTSA with a bachelor’s degree in communication, Genevieve has been coordinating the Annual Fund calling program since November 2006. In her role, she supervises students who call UTSA alumni to ask for annual gifts. She was first introduced to the Annual Fund phonathon when she worked as a student caller herself. Genevieve’s previous work experience includes internships in public relations and marketing, and a position in member services with USAA. |
