Faculty Resource Guide
As a faculty or staff member, you are required by law to provide "reasonable accommodations" for equal access to students with disabilities, so as not to discriminate on the basis of that disability. Student responsibility primarily rests with informing faculty of their need for accommodation and in providing authorized documentation through designated administrative channels. Each faculty member is encouraged to become familiar with relevant federal legislation regarding the rights of students with disabilities.
UTSA's Student Disability Services has created an easy to understand guide entitled "Accessing Education: A Guide for UTSA Faculty and Staff" (PDF) to better help you help your students.
