The UTSA Downtown Library, open since 1999, provides all library services available at the John Peace Library at the 1604 campus. Located in the Buena Vista Street Building (BV 2.314), the Downtown Library serves as the main collection of books and periodicals for Architecture, Interior Design, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, and Social Work. It also houses the Nonprofit Resource Collection for students, faculty, and San Antonio area nonprofit professionals. In addition, the Library has a core collection of books and periodicals covering most subjects, as well as electronic access to more than 300 databases with over 30,000 full-text journals and 48,000 electronic books. A media collection and associated equipment make it possible to view videos and DVDs in the Library. The Library Express Delivery Service between the Downtown and 1604 campuses provides access to the Library’s collection of 742,000 volumes, and borrowing materials from other libraries is just a click away via the online ILLiad service.
The Downtown Library is a great place to study with comfortable seating, quiet study areas, and group study rooms available for check out. At the Reference Desk, Library staff are available to assist students, faculty, staff, and the general public with their research needs. Tutoring is offered in the Library through our collaboration with the Tomas Rivera Center.
