Campus Recreation

UTSA's Campus Recreation office enhances a student's educational experience by providing opportunities for recreational activities with fellow students. Career Services

Career Services provides comprehensive career planning, employment, and job search services to UTSA students and alumni. Students can use the office's on-line job bank to search for work-study, part-time, and full-time jobs.

Both on-line career and individual career counseling are available to students to help them explore career choices and majors. Counselors also provide guidance in how to conduct an effective job search.

Workshops on various job search and career-related topics such as resume writing and interviewing skills are offered each semester. "Careers In …" Workshops are given by professionals who explain how to enter and become successful in various career fields.

Job recruiting events such as on-campus interviews with employers, employer recruiting tables and career and job fairs are also coordinated by Career Services.

Dining Services

UTSA's dining services facilities are located on the first floor of the Frio Street Building in the Commons area.

Disability Services

Disability Services coordinates support services for UTSA students with temporary or permanent disabilities to ensure equal access to all educational programs and activities. Services available to students include registration, assistance, test accommodations, volunteer note-takers, recorded text, interpreters for the deaf and assistive technology such as audio enhancement systems and adaptive computers. Library

The UTSA Downtown Library, open since 1999, provides all Library services available at the John Peace Library at the 1604 campus and has a core collection of books and periodicals covering most subjects. Located in the Buena Vista Street Building (BV 2.314), the Downtown Library also serves as the main collection of books and periodicals for Architecture, Interior Design, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, and Social Work for UTSA. It also houses the Nonprofit Resource Collection for students, faculty, and San Antonio area nonprofit professionals. Public computers with printers provide access to more than 250 electronic databases with over 30,000 full-text journals, as well as electronic books. A media collection and associated equipment make it possible to view videos and DVDs in the Library.

The Downtown Library is a great place to study with comfortable seating, quiet study areas, and group study rooms. The Reference Desk is staffed by librarians and staff who are available to assist students, faculty, staff, and the general public with all of their research needs. Student Activities Office and Center

Located on the 1st floor of the Durango Building (DB 1.302), the mission of the Student Activities Office is to lay the foundation for student involvement, leadership development, cultural awareness, and community outreach. There are over 200 different student organizations in which to get involved at both the Downtown and 1604 campuses. Participation in activities is strongly encouraged. The Student Activities Office also offers a variety of services including: a student organization work area with computers and printers, approval for posting at the Downtown Campus and Microsoft Software Sales.

The Student Activities Center, also located on the 1st floor of the Durango Building, offers a place for students to interact with others while playing pool, table tennis, playstation, video games, foosball, using a computer kiosk, the RowdyAir WiFi wireless internet connection or just simply relaxing. The Information Desk is open 8am to 6pm Monday through Friday to offer assistance to and to check out equipment to current students who present their UTSA ID card.

Tomas Rivera Center for Student Success (TRC)

Housed in the Durango Building (DB 2.114), the Tomas Rivera Center for Student Success provides comprehensive academic advising services and support programs for undecided and provisionally admitted students. The center also focuses on improving academic skills and retention rates for all UTSA students. It offers tutoring, Supplemental Instruction and study skills workshops. In addition, the Access College and Excel (ACE) Scholars Program is housed at the TRC, as is non-course based developmental instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics. University Health and Counseling

The Health and Counseling Center located in the Buena Vista Street Building (BV 1.308) offers medical and counseling assistance.

Health Services hours are:
Monday - Tuesday 8 am - 5:30 pm
Wednesday - Thursday 8 am - 4 pm

Counseling Services hours are:
Monday - Thursday 8 am - 4 pm

The Health Center provides support to all enrolled students. There is no appointment needed to see a nurse. The nurse will provide health care to students, offer an appointment with a medical doctor, and give health education as needed. There is a self-help area available for students. The Counseling Center offers appointments with a licensed counselor and a variety of other professional services including individual counseling, psychotherapy, relationship counseling and group counseling. University Bookstore

The University Bookstore offers a full line of new and used textbooks, reference books, school and office supplies, academically-priced software, clothing and gift items, greeting cards, snacks, drinks, and sundries, The University Bookstore buys textbooks year-round at competitive prices. The Bookstore is locate on the first floor of the Buena Vista Street Building (BV 1.342). For more information call (210) 458 2865.

UTSACard

The UTSACard is the official university identification and debit card. Students can deposit money into their account at Fiscal Services and use the card to purchase items at Dining Services, the University Bookstore and at campus copiers. You may visit the office that is located adjacent to Fiscal Services on the first floor of the Frio Street Building (FS 1.506) or call (210) 458-4739.
