According to the Texas Council on Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorders (2014), there are an estimated 130,000 Texans with ASD below 22 years of age. This year more than 50,000 students across Texas will receive special education programming under Autism eligibility. More than 50 years of research has made Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) the standard of care for addressing the needs of these students (BACB, 2014).
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is a paraprofessional who practices under the close, on-going supervision of a BCBA, BCaBA, or FL-CBA (“designated RBT supervisor”). The RBT is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the supervisor. The RBT may also collect data and conduct certain types of assessments (e.g., stimulus preference assessments).

We can assist you! Take our 5-week training course composed of face-to-face instructor time accompanied by online homework in your spare time. This training program is based on the Registered Behavior Technician Task List and is designed to meet the 42-hour training required for competency certification for the RBT credential.
Note that the RBT Competency Assessment will be administered by your supervising BACB Certificant. This program is offered independent of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
