Cyber Security Initiative

This course prepares IT/Security professionals for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam. Lectures cover all five examination domains required for the CompTIA Security+ exam in detail. Exam registration is not included in this course.


The course covers the following domains:

  • Network Security
  • Compliance and Operational Security
  • Threats and Vulnerabilities
  • Application, Data and Host Security
  • Access Control and Identity Management
  • Cryptography

Multiple practice tests will be used throughout the course.

Who Should Attend?

The CompTIA Security+ Certification is aimed at an IT security professional who wishes to pass the Security+ exam and who has:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in IT administration with a focus on security
  • Day to day technical information security experience
  • Broad knowledge of security concerns and implementation including the domains listed above


Two years of experience in IT security is recommended, but not required.

Course Length

The next course is happening June 8 - 12, 2015. The Security+ course will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with an hour break for lunch.

Provided Materials / Facilities

CompTIA Security+ All-in-One Exam Guide (3rd Edition), practice tests, answer keys and lecture materials are provided.
Courses are held in the North Paseo building at the main campus, room 3.120.

Please have a valid credit card ready as you will be providing payment during the registration process.
