Tomm Larson joined the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security in 2009. He has over ten years of experience in the information security industry. His past work included serving as a Program Manager and Business Analyst for Symantec Corporation's consulting organization.
Mr. Larson earned an MBA from University of Texas at San Antonio, and received his Bachelors degree from Brigham Young University. He also holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Security+ certifications.
Kevin Kjosa is an Assistant Director at the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security. He joined the Center in 2008 and has over 15 years experience in information technology and information security. He has as many operational years of experience in corporate information security within global manufacturing, health care, and higher education. Prior to joining the CIAS, he served as an Information Security Officer for the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he provided information security services to university leadership and faculty with emphasis on policies and standards. His experience also includes seven years in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Mr. Kjosa holds a Master of Science in Telecommunications from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an undergraduate degree in Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota. He holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
Paul Fletcher joined the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security in 2008. Mr. Fletcher currently holds the title of a Senior Information Security Technical Lead. Mr. Fletcher has over 15 years experience in information technology and information security. His experience includes over seven years in the Financial Services industry and five years within the Department of Defense. Prior to joining the CIAS, he served as Vice President, Security Operations for Wachovia where he provided leadership in spearheaded security components of customer financial electronic commerce websites and directed a technical team to design and implement network security, customer data integrity, and application security. Mr. Fletcher holds a Bachelor of Science from Wayland Baptist University and the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.
Ms. Nurre has over 18 years experience in information technology and information security. Her experience includes consulting services in the areas of risk assessment and abatement, IT Operations, and web administration for profit and non-profit organizations. Prior to joining the CIAS, she served as Chief Analyst at 501 CyberSecurity where she provided information security awareness and education to the non-profit and small to medium business sectors. Ms. Nurre holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and a Master’s of Science in Management Information Systems from The University of Texas at Dallas. She holds the certifications of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH), and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).
Stephanie Ewing-Ottmers joined the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security in 2010. She currently holds the title of Senior Information Security Project Lead. Ms. Ewing-Ottmers has held various technology and information security leadership positions in the utility industry working at CPS Energy in San Antonio for over 9 years. Her experience includes the implementation of corporate governance, risk and compliance programs, security awareness training and security operations. She also spent 4 years working in the banking industry. In addition to her professional experience, Ms. Ewing-Ottmers holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix. She is a Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), a Certifified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Rayford Sims joined the Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security in 2008. Mr. Sims currently holds the title of Assistant Director. He has over 12 years experience in information technology and security including security management, network infrastructure design and implementation, software architecture and development, and operating system administration and security. He has managed and led software development and system administration teams in both commercial and government environments. Prior to joining the CIAS, Mr. Sims served as a Manager at Deloitte & Touche where he managed and led security controls reviews, compliance efforts, security and vulnerability assessments, wireless assessments, firewall audits and security technology implementation for a wide array of Fortune 100 companies in various industries. Mr. Sims obtained a Bachelor of Arts Computer Science - Economics from Claremont McKenna College and holds the credentials of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
