This course pre pares participants for the CompTIA Network+ certification examination. The course builds on your existing user-level knowledge and experience with personal computer (PC) operating systems and networks to present fundamental skills and concepts that you will use on the job in any type of networking career.
Students will identify and describe all the major networking technologies, systems, skills, and tools in use in modern PC-based computer networks, and learn information and skills that will be helpful to prepare for the CompTIA Network+ certification examination. Exam registration is not included in this course.
The course covers the following domains specified by CompTIA Network+ examination objectives:
Network experience and the CompTIA A+ certification are helpful but not required.
An introductory course in a Windows operating system, or equivalent skills and knowledge, is recommended. CompTIA A+ certification, or the equivalent skills and knowledge, is helpful but not required.
Participants will be provided with lecture and reference materials, a textbook, practice tests and answer keys. Courses are held at the UTSA Downtown Campus.
The course will meet on six consecutive Saturdays, a total of 42 hours of in-class instruction.
The cost of the six-session training course is $1,395.
