Certification of Professional Development
in Geographic Information Science

The purpose of the Professional Certificate in Geographic Information Science is to create individuals from a broad range of academic disciplines who are competent users of GIS and related tools of the Global Positioning System and Remote Sensing.  The Certificate of Geographic Information Science is a 15-hour program. 

Degree seeking, special graduate or non-degree-seeking students from any discipline at UTSA are allowed to complete the Certificate - Application for UTSA students. 

If you have a bachelor's degree from another institution and you are only interested in the Certification program, please apply to UTSA as a Special (non-degree seeking) student.

Students will be assigned a faculty advisor for guidance in the program.
